Threading Connections:
Native American Beadwork and Native Plants
JOIN US TO CELEBRATE THE FLOWERS OF Tehim (Lenape for Strawberry) AND PRACTICE THE ART FORM OF BEADWORK.
Learn about local Native American communities, understand the history and journey of beadwork, and appreciate native plants through an Indigenous ecological perspective while creating an artistic representation of a Tehim flower that will be customized into a brooch, keychain, or necklace.
Saturday, May 18th: 2-6pm in-person at the Nanticoke Indian Center (27073 John J Williams Hwy / Millsboro, DE 19966)
Threading Connections is taught by experienced artists who are also members of Delaware’s Indigenous communities: Kesha Braunskill (Lenape Indian Tribe of Delaware) and Karelle Hall (Nanticoke Tribe).
People of all backgrounds with basic needlework experience are invited to participate in this hands-on class. All supplies will be provided.
Participants are encouraged to make a donation of $25 per person to register for the class.
